DeCandia lab members took a behind-the-scenes tour of the Small Mammal House at Smithsonian's National Zoo!
Assistant Curator Kenton Kearns taught us about wildlife conservation efforts spearheaded by the zoo and introduced
us to charismatic / adorable armadillo and tenrec animal ambassadors. Our tour team included PI Alexandra DeCandia;
RISE students Urooj Ahmed, Dawson Hillyer, and Tyller Mensa; and microbiome researchers Ameera Ayaz,
